I’m super disappointed. I have worn GC leggings for years and love the fit/style. I ordered 3 more pairs recently and they arrived smelling really chemically and off. This has never happened with past orders but I just assumed they needed to be laundered. I threw them in the wash thinking that would solve it. Wrong. I’ve washed them 4 times and they still smell awful. I don’t think I can even wear them, that’s how strong the smell is. I’m not sure if it was a weird batch of fabric or something but it is BAD. Otherwise they are fine, but probably unwearable despite my best efforts.

I purchased these leggings based on reviews from the New York Times, and it is the first time I feel conned. The fit was too low and awkward. But the worst part is the smell. Even after washing the leggings twice and letting them air out, they still smell like burning plastic. I have never has clothing smell this bad, and these were very expensive. I am incredibly sad I cannot return them because I had to wash them to try and salvage the situation.

This is not my first pair of Girlfriend leggings, because the quality is normally great so they last, but I needed a long pair with pockets for running. I bought my usual size but they do not stay up so I'm constantly tugging while I run. Also as others have noted, they smell weird, even after multiple washes. I'm disappointed - they are not the same.
